And he strikes again....

After seeing my knitting books ripped to shreds, you'd think that I'd learn not to leave books out in the living room for the very rambuncious kitty to gnaw to pieces. Sadly, I didn't learn my lesson that day.

Instead of a knitting book, this time it was my other passion... an animal book. A very nice animal book I might add. One of those Smithsonian, cost-you-more-than-it-costs-to-make-a-nice-scarf type books.

Here's a bit of the evidence...The inner pages have definitely seen better days...I've done my best in taping it, just so I don't lose that page altogether.

I particularly like the corner where it looks like he just took a bite right out of it.You'd think that I wasn't feeding this cat and that he's just looking for sustinence elsewhere, but his sizable waistline tells a different story...

Oh no - you've been having critter trouble too!

Mmm, get that cat some toys. Maybe you need to browse the book section at Goodwill. Or even give him a bone to chew on. It sounds crazy, but I've heard it works. Otherwise, you may end up with all torn up books.

Looks some a cat needs to go into the feline protection program!

I've seen Wes dive into a pile of magazines. Trust me. It's not the fiber he's looking for.

It's the thrill of the shred (she says as her cat speeds by her, attacking sunlight on the floor).

Poor book. :-( R.I.P. (Oh, the humanity!)

Unbelievable! Hrm...the major issue I ever had to address with a kitten was my kitty's desire to potty behind a cd case rack. I ended up moving the cd case closer to the wall and blocked it on either side so she couldn't sneak back there. After that she used the litter box. Not sure what you can do about a kitty chewing on books. Hide the books?

Thanks for the offer on advice for fixing my Wallaby hood. After consulting my sister, I ripped the seam out and redid the seam the same way the top of the pouch is joined to the body (similar to three needle bind off I think). It looks much better!

Bad, bad kitty! I think he needs more pulp in his diet!

My cat's a "chewer" too.. she'll chew anything and loves magazines and books, cell phones, tv cables, spinning wheel drive bands.... I've had to smear that Grannick's bitter apple over everything I own.. but it seems to do the trick.. one sniff and she moves on.

I just showed your blog to my husband - we both laughed and shook our heads... our cats aren't book eaters, but they always come up with something original...

That's a naughty kitty. Did you notice the one page he ripped had birds on it?

Congrats on your internship and nice sweater, too ;)
