Baby beluga in the deep blue sea...

This is just a quick update. Yes I'm still alive, no I haven't been knitting (and to be honest, it's killing me!!!) What I have been doing is spending the week job shadowing as a part of my program. Today I got to meet this little guy...He's a baby beluga whale. This picture is pretty fuzzy, but you can sort of see his teeth haven't even grown in yet! Too cute!

I'm too tired to even throw together anything else that might resemble a descent blog post, so I'll catch up again when I have more time... and the energy to keep my eyes open for more than two minutes!

Awwww!!! Is THIS my present!?!? Just kidding... oh wait- no I'm not... I WANT ONE! Hope you're having a blast. Oh yeah.....

I can't stop singing:

Baby beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free.
Heaven above and the sea below, And a little whale on the go.

Baby beluga, oh, baby beluga,
Is the water warm?
Is your mama home with you so happy?

Way down yonder where the dolphins play,
Where you dive and splash all day.
Waves roll in and the waves roll out!
See the water squirtin’ out of your spout.

Baby beluga, oh, baby beluga,
Sing your little song, sing for all your friends. We like to hear you.

Baby beluga in the deep blue sea,
Swim so wild and you swim so free.
Heaven above and the sea below, And a little whale on the go.

When it’s dark, you’re home and fed,
Curl up snug in your water bed.
Moon is shining and the stars are out.
Good night, little whale, good night.

Baby beluga, of, baby beluga,
With tomorrow’s sun, another day’s begun.
You’ll soon be waking.

Ah yes, one of our favorite songs. And my favorite exhibit at the Vancouver aquarium (where, by the way, Raffi first saw the baby that inspired the song.) My son pronounced it "Baby Bagooola" for the longest time.

Oh, he is completely fabulous! I miss the ocean so much. Its tough to live inland when you've lived by the water all your life.

Very cute little guy! And don't worry. Your needles and yarn are going to be there when you slow down.

I <3 Belugas. I'm guessing you're at Marineland? I bought a ticket to feed and pet them when I was there two summers ago. They're so cute. And I am SO jealous :)

Oh my goodness I just want to go up to him and rub his little head! He is so cute!

I dont know why, but that water looks really refreshing. I wish it was 90 outside and I could jump right in!

Adorable beluga! He's so smiley!

I hope you can get some rest so you're able to knit...and post! LOL!

Bubby beluga whale! Ages ago, our vegetarian ex-housemate commented "Those sausages are a funny colour," and DH replied "They're beluga meat sausages." Well, didn't that set her off! Of course they weren't - totally illegal and against our morals anyway but jeez it was funny!

I don't know why it's so surprising to think that they don't have all of their teeth when they're babies, but it kind of was. Totally learned something new today. Thanks!
