Happy 4th of July!

Unfortunately it won't feel much like the 4th for me since I have to work all day today. I have been looking for a new job and even went on an interview, but it just didn't seem like the right fit. (I'm beginning to wonder if I'm being too picky!) I have faith that the right thing will come along at the right moment.

Anyway, last time I checked this was a knitting blog and there's been very little of that going on here recently. Well here's what I've been working on.I finished up this pair of Sprial Boot Socks a week or two ago. They just need the ends sewn it. In general, most of my finished objects won't get the ends sewn in until I'm ready to wear it. This pattern called for the spiral to go in the same direction for both socks. I really didn't want them like that so I consulted the internet and found someone else who changed the direction of the spiral for their socks too. (I had unsuccessfully tried to reverse the spiral myself with not luck, apparently my brain couldn't wrap itself around the problem!) I'm very please with the results here and I'm sure they're going to become some of my favorite socks.

I've also started a pair of Monkey socks.I was at a BBQ with a fellow knitter who inspired me to try the pattern. I had some sock yarn lying around (let's face it, most knitters have sock yarn lying around) so I decided to try it. I already have plans to gift them for Christmas. Chirstmas knitting??? Oh yes, it's never too early to Christmas knit.

I was also inspired to knit the Everlasting Bagstopper from Knitty. I'm so close to being finished.Instead of using ribbon for the handles, I'm knitting my own. I also decided to make the pattern a bit shorter than it called for so it won't stretch as much. Maybe I'll even finish it before I go to the Farmers market tomorrow!

I love your spiral boot socks! I know what you mean about not being able to wrap your brain around the pattern. That has been happening to me a lot lately. Even when I am not trying to make modifications.

Great spiral boot socks. You did the right thing by making the mirror symmetry and having the spirals go in opposite directions. This way they look interesting and (on you) probably quite sexy. If the spirals were in the same direction they would look odd. Your aesthetic sense is finely honed.

Good luck on the job hunt. You'll find something that suits you. You're one of the "bright lights" and the right employer will get the shine.

You must have blogged this in a hurry because you've got a couple of typos in the post, which is something you almost never have. Not complaining, just surprised.

Great job on the socks! I like that you have reversed the spirals. Love the monkey socks too. It is one of those patterns that I have put in my "someday" folder.

Good luck with the job hunt
