Trouble with fairies...

Has anyone ever heard of the contact lens fairy? Probably not, because it's not one of those nice fairies that leaves a quarter under your pillow after you lose a tooth. The contact lens fairy is little more than a thief. It steals your contact lenses in the middle of the night, dries them out on its hearth and uses them as clear bowls. My friends, I've been hit by the contact lens fairy and what's worse, it was my last pair.

This would explain why I'm wearing my glasses in this picture to model my sister's finished scarf...Don't get me wrong, I do like my glasses, it's just that I have no prescription sunglasses and they sort of make the bridge of my nose hurt a little by the end of the day.

But really, I'm making up this story to help explain the loss of my contacts when I have absolutely no idea how it happened. I went to put them in one morning and they weren't it my case...they weren't in my eyes either. I have a bit of a bathroom routine when it comes to brushing teeth, washing my face, taking out or putting in my contacts... I just can't explain why they are missing. I hope I'm not losing my mind.

In other news, I went up to my old roommates apartment to pick up my cat, Ludo. He didn't really like the drive back too much so he wedged himself between me and my seat...After awhile he calmed down and moved to my lap where he stayed until we got home. It's been interesting introducing him to my current roommate's cat. I kept him in my room without letting him or the other cat even see each other for a few days. That way they could get the scent of each other and become comfortable with that first. Then it was just little supervised meetings, first for a few minutes, then for an hour, then for the day and now they're chasing each other and playing.

I tell you, there's nothing better than having two cats who get along. I've had cats who hate each other and barely tolerated each other. The screams were horrible. But I'd say that Ludo's settling in nicely...I sure did miss my baby!

Probably the worst thing I ever did to my contacts was close the drain trap on one lense and snap it in half. I used to wear hard lenses, for 10 years, but I gave up for the convenience of glasses a year or so ago. Not having sunglasses really bothers me so next year I by a pair of prescription ones.

Cute cat and cute scarf by the way!

It must feel great to be reunited with your kitty.

Your sister's scarf turned out great. I think a scarf of seed stitch always looks wonderful. Simple but with a classic look.

How's your mom? Hope she is doing well.

Awww squishy kitty!

That is a fantastic scarf! Hopefully the weather will stay warm enough for a little while longer that she won't need it though...

I've been wondering what happened to Ludo. How the heck did you get that photo in the car? He's such a sweetheart!

Erin - you look adorable with glasses or without. You tell that to those darned fairies and maybe they'll bring back your contacts.

Love the glasses - I hope the len's mystery is solved soon. And great photo of Ludo! Glad the cats are friends now.

I always miss my kitties so much when I am away. Ludo reminds me of my cats in the car. They find the smallest space possible and cram themselves in it. I try not to laugh, considering they are terrified and all...

Love the scarf by the way, GREAT drape!

Glad that Ludo is settling in your new place, and with your new roommate's cat !

Doubt Wiggley and I could travel like Ludo first did, ie between you and your seat - we'll both be squashed :D

Love that photo of Ludo squashed behind you though.

Haha! The contact lens fairy always snags mine on the way to the case from the tip of my finger and I can't find it for the life of me!

Your kitty is so cute - I love the way he sat behind your back.

I'm sure she will love the scarf. I hate wearing my glasses mainly for the sunglasses reason. Hope you can get a replacement pair soon!

I wish I could have our kitties! I woke up this morning surprised because one of our cats was sitting on the couch here! But it was alas just a dream.
Heh. Contact lens fairies. I can remember spending half an hour crawling around on the long pile carpet at my then boyfriend's grandma's place looking for a contact lens. He helped out too. Then I blinked and voila! Contact lens reappeared from behind my eyeball and I could SEE!

What darling piccies of Ludo! He looks so sweet. As for the contact lens fairy, I know all about that. I always figured s/he was more of a gremlin however. ;)
