A story in pictures...

Wow, where do I begin? How about with some good 'ole knitting? I finished these socks before I even left for Seattle. They're a bit of a pain to get on, but it's so worth it! Talk about comfortable.

Here's the progress I've made so far on the va-va-voom sweater (I just now decided to call it that... thought it would be fitting)I'm about to start the increases for the side shaping and not to long after that comes the split in the front: oo-la-la!

I'm much more comfortable with smaller projects when traveling so I started another pair of socks on my way to Seattle. This is yarn from one of the venders at Rhinebeck. I am thoroughly in love with it.The colors don't pool at all. It's everything a variegated sock should be!

Speaking of Seattle, we went to a couple of yarn shops there and to continue my love of sock knitting, I bought a skein of Trekking. Isn't it purty? The colors are so subtle, I'm really interested to see how they turn out. So let me tell you about Seattle...

In the plane we saw the most gorgeous views!Jill and I proved on our first day that the sun does shine in Seattle. We went to the Science Center where I made friends with a grub...And did some fake rock climbing...Only to be followed by some real rock climbing at REI...I got a little excited about the Space Needle...Then we both got excited about the Space Needle...We went to Pike Place Market and the Aquarium....where I became an octopus...And we went to the zoo... where they thought we were animals and put us in cages...Basically, I had the best time with Jill in Seattle... I couldn't ask for a better friend.

Awe, Erin it looks like you had so much fun!! I took a trip to Seattle with my brother many years ago, it looks like it was very similar to yours. I remember how much fun we had... so I can imagine yours!

I love how your socks turned out, and I really love va-va-va voom. How do you like the yarn you are doing it in?

I've never used Trekking before. Let me know how you like it, maybe I'll take a break from baby knits and try it out!

I'm going to be in Binghamton the weekend of March 3 for a baby shower... I'm not sure if you are still in the area, let me know!

Seattle looks great, I would love to go and oogle over the starbucks headquarters (I am a little obsessed).

You said that your sweater is fitting....hehe (hence the closely fitting pattern pick--funny play on words)

Wow! Great photos, and it looks like you had a great time! The only time I was in Seattle, it was dark, dreary and rainy, heh heh heh!

What a fun trip. Seattle is such an awesome city, it's no wonder you had a good time. And I heard somewhere that it's actually more overcast and gross in Chicago than it is in Seattle. Go figure.

I absolutely love that variegated colorway. I normally dislike variegated yarn but you have a winner! Both pairs of socks look great. I'm glad you had a good trip!

I love Seattle! Looks like you had a great time.

I am going next weekend to visit the market (there is a favorite African import shop there of mine) and visit a hockey game. Yay!

Did you eat on the wharf?
